Primary Teacher

About the role

Enko Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join its network of international schools across Africa. You will create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students develop academically, socially, emotionally, and personally.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
• Teach core subjects, fostering literacy, numeracy, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Prepare teaching resources, classroom activities, and assessments.
• Monitor, assess, and record student progress, providing differentiated instruction and additional support as needed.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation, creativity, independence, and confidence.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student development.
• Identify and report any safeguarding or wellbeing concerns.
• Keep accurate attendance, assessment, and student records.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and school activities, and collaborate with colleagues on student development.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and school projects while ensuring compliance with all school policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification/certification (advantageous or required where applicable).
• Previous experience teaching at primary level.
• Strong understanding of child development and age‑appropriate teaching methods.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.

Required skills

• Good digital literacy and ability to integrate technology into teaching.
