Purchasing Supervisor – Local Procurement Operations

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor will lead the factory’s local procurement activities, ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials, packaging, and operational consumables. This role coordinates sourcing, pricing, ordering, and delivery tracking while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all local procurement processes, from sourcing and quotation requests to order placement and delivery schedule tracking.
• Develop and manage relationships with local suppliers, including onboarding, on‑site audits, price negotiations, and performance evaluations.
• Prepare procurement plans, collaborate with production and warehouse teams to verify material needs, and control stock levels to avoid shortages or excess.
• Organise and archive contracts, purchase orders, and quotations, ensuring compliance with procedures and mitigating fraud risk.
• Generate weekly and monthly procurement reports.
• Lead a team of procurement specialists, allocate tasks, monitor progress, and coordinate with finance for invoice reconciliation and payment follow‑up.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma or equivalent; degree in supply chain management, procurement or related field preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years of team management.
• Experience in FMCG, paper products or daily chemicals sectors is advantageous.
