Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment, and management of integrated road crash data systems for the EU‑funded Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance project. The role supports sustainable, safe mobility across West Africa by harmonising data collection, analytics and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection methodologies, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards and road‑safety analytics.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting tools and monitoring systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities.
• Support monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs on road‑crash data and safety performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years focused on crash data systems, data interoperability or road‑safety observatories.
• Proven experience in developing‑country transport or road‑safety projects, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
