Senior Radiologic Technologist – Radiology Unit (Cameroon)

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Cameroon is seeking a Senior Radiologic Technologist to lead the Radiology Unit that provides chest X‑ray screening for refugees and immigrants. Working under the Migration Health Physician and the Chief of Mission, you will ensure high‑quality imaging, safety compliance, and efficient workflow.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee all radiologic services in the unit, performing chest X‑ray examinations according to IOM, international, and resettlement‑country standards.
- Plan daily work schedules, assign duties, and supervise staff to guarantee proper technique, radiation protection, and timely image delivery.
- Ensure respectful applicant handling, accurate identification, correct data entry, and proper labeling of digital images.
- Review image quality, repeat examinations when necessary, and communicate urgent findings to radiologists or physicians.
- Lead quality‑assurance activities, update standard operating procedures, and act as the unit’s QA focal point.
- Implement and monitor radiologic safety measures, maintain radiation protection records, and liaise with government authorities for licensing.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with IOM technical services and external providers.
Required profile
- Professional experience in chest X‑ray imaging and digital radiography (CR/DR).
- Demonstrated ability to supervise a radiology team and manage workflow.
- Knowledge of international radiographic standards and resettlement‑country technical instructions.
- Familiarity with radiation protection regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills for counseling applicants and reporting to physicians.
