About the role
NTU International is seeking a senior expert to lead road safety awareness and behavioural‑change campaigns across the ECOWAS region. The role focuses on protecting vulnerable road users through inclusive communication strategies, policy integration, and capacity‑building activities.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement road safety awareness and behavioural‑change campaigns targeting women, youth, persons with disabilities, pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable groups.
- Provide technical assistance on communication strategies, public outreach programmes and stakeholder engagement.
- Integrate vulnerable‑user considerations into transport policies and road‑safety programmes.
- Develop communication materials, awareness tools and public‑information campaigns.
- Prepare road‑safety studies, analytical reports and policy recommendations.
- Coordinate with transport authorities, civil‑society organisations, educational institutions, media and development partners.
- Deliver workshops, consultations and capacity‑building activities on road‑safety communication.
- Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation of campaign outcomes.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in communications, public health, social sciences, transport safety, behavioural sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety campaigns, public‑awareness programmes or social‑inclusion projects.
- At least 7 years of experience specifically in road‑safety behavioural‑change communication.
- Proven experience working on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
- Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
