About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an experienced, neuro‑affirming Speech and Language Therapist to join the East Dunbartonshire team. This part‑time, permanent position provides front‑facing clinical support to children and families with communication, neurodevelopmental, and eating‑drinking differences across a variety of community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred, Realistic Medicine‑aligned care to children with complex communication needs.
• Support families dealing with neurodevelopmental and dysphagia challenges.
• Collaborate with the neurodevelopmental (ND) service pathway and the wider children’s workforce.
• Build relationships that promote understanding of communication differences.
• Provide flexible, community‑based services in homes, pre‑5 settings, schools, and health facilities.
• Participate in clinical supervision, governance, and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Degree in Speech and Language Pathology (Ordinary/Honours).
• Certificate to Practice awarded by RCSLT.
• Membership of RCSLT and registration with HCPC.
• Post‑graduate clinical experience with a complex paediatric caseload.
• Desirable: post‑graduate qualification in dysphagia or willingness to obtain it.
• Valid driver’s licence.
