Technical Director – Health Systems Strengthening

About the role

The Technical Director will provide overall technical direction for a multi‑sectoral health project in Cameroon, ensuring that staffing, activities and reporting align with the project’s vision and donor expectations. Working closely with the Project Director, the role will harmonise efforts across supply chain, human resources technical assistance, and management information systems to support universal health coverage (UHC) implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical and managerial oversight of project activities, ensuring timely implementation and reporting to MSH headquarters and the U.S. Department of State.
• Coordinate multi‑sectoral efforts to strengthen supply chain systems, logistics, regulation, and health financing models for UHC.
• Support policy development, SOPs, and tools for improved delivery of HIV, malaria, and other priority health services.
• Collaborate with partners, donors, the U.S. Embassy, and the Ministry of Public Health to align project work with national health strategies.
• Serve on the Cameroon Leadership Team to ensure coordinated operational support across the project.
• Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning lead to promote high‑performance, results‑based approaches.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in health systems strengthening, supply chain management, and UHC implementation.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong understanding of health financing, policy development, and donor reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to produce high‑quality documentation and reports.
