Technical Officer – Clinical Service Improvement & Science

About the role

The Technical Officer, Clinical Service Improvement and Science (TO‑CSIS) will support EGPAF’s mission to eliminate pediatric HIV by enhancing the quality of clinical services for women, children and families living with HIV in Cameroon. Reporting to the Director of Public Health Evaluation, the role blends evaluation design, implementation science, and capacity building across field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop evaluation protocols and improvement‑science concept notes to assess EGPAF’s HIV prevention, care and treatment programs.
• Design, pilot, and refine data collection tools, SOPs, and related study documents.
• Coordinate and oversee field evaluations, including staff training, data collection, cleaning, storage and compliance with SOPs.
• Collaborate with District Technical Advisors, local health facilities, and the Cameroon Ministry of Health to ensure smooth implementation.
• Maintain regular communication with local and international investigators, providing progress updates and reporting findings.
• Conduct internal monitoring and audits of evaluation activities, recommending corrective actions to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, clinical research or a related field.
• Experience designing and managing evaluation or implementation‑science studies in low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff and clinical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a plus.
