Tour Guide – Douala, Cameroon

About the role

Think Tours Cameroon is looking for a passionate and professional Tour Guide to lead visitors through Douala’s waterfront, island city belts, mangrove forests and historic sites. The role involves delivering engaging storytelling while ensuring the safety and comfort of both domestic and international guests.

Key responsibilities

• Guide groups on land and water tours, managing logistics with boat captains, drivers and site managers.
• Provide accurate, captivating commentary on Cameroon’s history, culture, architecture and natural environment.
• Conduct safety briefings and monitor guest well‑being throughout all excursions.
• Address on‑tour issues promptly and maintain a high level of customer service.
• Coordinate schedules to ensure punctual departures and arrivals.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Cameroonian history, geography and tourism attractions.
• Excellent public speaking and interpersonal abilities.
• Fluency in English; French proficiency is a plus.
• Energetic, punctual, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
• Previous experience in tour guiding, hospitality or related fields is advantageous.

Required skills

• First‑aid certification (preferred).
• Boat safety awareness (preferred).
