Assistant Anti-Poaching Coordinator – Bouba Ndjidda Landscape

About the role

The Assistant Anti-Poaching Coordinator will support the Anti-Poaching Coordinator in supervising field operations, training staff, and coordinating anti‑poaching activities across the Bouba Ndjidda – Bénoué / Sena Oura landscape. This position works in a remote, security‑sensitive environment and requires close collaboration with government wildlife and military agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Anti‑Poaching Operations Manager, Training Manager, Technical Assistants and Conservation Support Staff, ensuring discipline, safety and high performance.
• Provide training, operational guidance and ongoing supervision to anti‑poaching personnel, maintaining strict safety standards.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor anti‑poaching patrols and operations based on risk analyses and strategic priorities.
• Support legal and judicial units by ensuring quality, compliance and traceability of wildlife crime case files.
• Produce regular, accurate reports on field activities, results and operational constraints.
• Manage information‑collection systems, overseeing data collection, analysis, utilization and controlled dissemination.
• Develop and maintain operational relationships with private partners, especially Hunting Zones of Interest, to ensure consistent anti‑poaching efforts.
• Engage with local communities to raise awareness and coordinate conservation initiatives.
