Communication Intern – Digital & Visibility Support

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Cameroon seeks a Communication Intern to support digital communication and visibility initiatives across its mission, especially in the North‑West, South‑West and East regions. Working under the Digital and Communication Assistant, the intern will help ensure coherent information flow, staff engagement and proper documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Capture basic field visuals (photos, short videos) and collect beneficiary quotes during field missions.
• Draft short field updates, social media captions and internal briefs.
• Assist in preparing visibility materials such as banners, branded items and donor consent forms.
• Organise and maintain communication files, including photos, videos, notes and consent forms.
• Support the management of IOM Cameroon’s website.
• Create basic multimedia content (graphics, infographics, short videos) using beginner‑friendly tools.
• Participate in community‑engagement activities and capture positive stories.
• Help the field team prepare short updates for internal information‑sharing platforms and maintain simple communication logs.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme, or a graduate programme, in Communication, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Political Science, Journalism or a related field.
• Or recently graduated with a degree in one of the above disciplines.

Required skills

• Basic photography and video capture using a smartphone or camera.
• Content creation with Canva or similar graphic‑design tools.
• Website content management (CMS) basics.
• Organising digital files and documentation.
