Community Training Assistant

About the role

The Community Training Assistant will support Nuru Nigeria’s nutrition‑sensitive regenerative agribusiness programmes in rural Adamawa. Working directly with farmer groups and community field agents, the assistant will facilitate data collection, monitor activities, and help ensure community ownership of interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the M&E unit in gathering primary data during training assessments, focus groups, key informant interviews and farm monitoring.
• Collect and verify financial inclusion records for farmer associations, including savings and loan data.
• Perform data‑quality checks, pre‑test tools, and maintain accurate documentation of study materials and attendance.
• Serve as the liaison between the community and Nuru Nigeria, mobilising participants and providing security updates.
• Conduct step‑down training for farmers and reinforce M&E systems within farmer groups.
• Provide feedback on community trends to inform programme adjustments.
• Support community field agents in monitoring demonstration plots and farmer association meetings.

Required profile

• HND/Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Management, Social Research, Development Studies, Linguistics or related field with at least 6 months of data‑collection experience, OR a Diploma with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Fluent in English and Hausa (reading, writing, speaking).
• Resident of the intervention area with good knowledge of local terrain.
• Strong commitment to humanitarian and development principles, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑changing environment.
