Construction Specialist – Education Infrastructure (P-3)

About the role

The Construction Specialist will coordinate construction activities within UNICEF Cameroon’s Education Programme, ensuring that school infrastructure projects are planned, procured, and executed to provide safe, inclusive learning environments for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual construction workplan in line with programme objectives.
• Collaborate with UNICEF programme teams and government counterparts to define construction interventions.
• Develop design and technical documents for education infrastructure projects.
• Support the procurement process, including tender preparation and evaluation.
• Monitor construction sites, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture, or environmental engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in UN/NGO settings managing construction, education infrastructure, or related projects.
• Proven experience in project management, procurement, contract management, site supervision, and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience in emergency or crisis‑affected settings is strongly preferred.
