Data Centre Technology Coordinator

About the role

MTN Cameroon is looking for a Data Centre Technology Coordinator in Douala. The role covers day-to-day and 24/7 readiness of data centre rooms, racks and hosted physical infrastructure, capacity and asset management, governance, security and risk, vendor coordination, reporting and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day and 24/7 operational readiness of data centre rooms, racks and hosted infrastructure, and monitor power, UPS, cooling, temperature, humidity and housekeeping, escalating threshold breaches.
• Drive preventive maintenance, health checks, firmware lifecycle follow-up and remediation plans, and coordinate incident response, restoration support and root-cause follow-up.
• Maintain inventory and rack/space records in approved asset and DCIM tools, perform capacity planning and coordinate equipment receipt, installation, commissioning, relocation, decommissioning and disposal.
• Enforce physical access control, visitor and contractor supervision, work permits and escort requirements, and maintain audit evidence and risk mitigation actions.
• Support backup, recovery, data archive, IT asset management, data wiping, business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
• Plan and document third-party interventions, manage follow-up with OEMs and support partners, and coordinate with Facilities, Network, Security, Service Operations, Architecture, PMO and other stakeholders.
• Produce periodic dashboards and reports on availability, incidents, capacity and environmental performance, monitor KPIs and SLAs, and promote process optimization and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in IT, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years in data centre operations or IT infrastructure support.
• Data centre operations certifications (CDCP, Cisco DCTECH) preferred.
• Ability to work in a team, lead team meetings, and meet and prioritize own targets and deadlines.
