Education Technical Coordinator

About the role

The Education Technical Coordinator will report to the Deputy Director of Program and lead the overall strategy, management, coordination and implementation of education activities across Cameroon. The role ensures high‑quality sectoral interventions, creates a constructive learning environment, and supports the education needs of displaced children and host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a country‑wide education strategy aligned with IRC’s humanitarian objectives.
• Coordinate education programming across field offices in Kousseri, Makary, Bamenda and Mamfe.
• Oversee curriculum development, teacher training, and learning material distribution.
• Monitor and evaluate program quality, ensuring compliance with protection and gender‑based violence safeguards.
• Manage education budgets, reporting, and resource allocation.
• Supervise education staff and foster a collaborative, learning‑focused team culture.
• Liaise with partners, government authorities, and community leaders to strengthen program impact.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Education, International Development or a related field.
• Proven experience managing education programs in humanitarian or refugee contexts.
• Strong leadership and coordination abilities.
• Understanding of Cameroon's education system and protection standards.
