Equipment Operator – Forklift & Truck Operations

About the role

APM Terminals is seeking a meticulous Equipment Operator to safely operate engines, forklifts and trucks for moving, locating, stacking and counting merchandise. The role supports warehouse operations and may include order filler and checker duties.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and start engine at shift start, operating it safely to minimize injury and damage.
• Load and unload products using forklifts and other material‑handling equipment.
• Store, transport and deliver products within the warehouse and to distribution centers.
• Sort, pack, wrap, tie, label and weigh products, recording data on labels.
• Handle hazardous waste under supervisor direction.
• Maintain a clean work area by removing pallets, wood and plastic.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns and record inspections on log sheets.
• Recharge, clean, oil and refuel material‑handling equipment as required.
• Study production schedules to determine material movements and deliveries.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Minimum two years of truck driving or similar commercial experience.
• Full understanding of truck operation and a valid truck driver’s licence.
• Experience operating forklifts or other material‑handling equipment.
