Field Officer

About the role

Wave is expanding its cashless payment platform across Cameroon and needs a Field Officer to lead product roll‑outs in key regions. You will act as the face of Wave, building and managing a local agent network, recruiting users and ensuring smooth adoption of our mobile financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recruit and train agents in the assigned territory (Yaoundé, Bafoussam, Bertoua, Maroua/Kaéle or other cities).
• Onboard target users onto Wave’s app and promote product usage.
• Monitor agent compliance, branding, cash float and equipment.
• Conduct regular field visits to assess performance, manage risk and resolve issues.
• Close under‑performing agents, recover assets and remove branding material.
• Collaborate with other Field Officers to accelerate adoption across Cameroon.

Required profile

• Fluent French and medium English proficiency.
• Mandatory proficiency in Fulfulde; additional local language is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years experience managing an agent network or field‑based teams in Cameroon.
• Familiarity with at least one of the target regions.

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to train and coach agents on application use, contracts and fraud management.
• Risk assessment and problem‑solving in field environments.
