Field Officer

About the role

Wave is expanding its cashless financial services across Cameroon and needs a Field Officer to lead product rollouts, build and manage a local agent network, and recruit users in key regions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, recruit and train agents on Wave applications, contracts, fraud management and rebalancing.
• Recruit target users and onboard them onto Wave’s mobile financial services.
• Collaborate with other Field Officers to accelerate product adoption.
• Ensure agents meet legal, policy and branding standards and have adequate cash float.
• Monitor cash and float availability at agent locations.
• Conduct routine risk visits, report issues and assess agent performance.
• Close under‑performing agents, recover equipment and remove branding material.
• Serve as the primary contact for all agencies acquiring Wave products in the territory.

Required profile

• Fluent French and a good command of at least one local language; speaking Fulfulde is mandatory.
• Medium English proficiency.
• Minimum 2 years experience managing an agent network in Cameroon, including at least 1 year leading field‑based teams.
• Familiarity with the specific regions (Yaoundé, Bafoussam, Bertoua or Maroua/Kaéle).
• Legal work authorization in Cameroon.
