Field Security Officer

About the role

The Field Security Officer will support IOM’s activities in Yaounde by providing expert security risk management and implementing safety procedures for personnel, premises, assets, and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert support to enable IOM’s activities with all aspects of security risk management.
• Implement safety and security management procedures to protect IOM personnel, premises, assets and operational activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Security Management, Business Administration, Political/Social Science, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Law, International Relations or related field with five years relevant experience, or a university degree with seven years experience.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in international relations, security, risk, disaster or crisis management, with field operations experience considered desirable.

Required skills

• Fluency in English and French (oral and written).
• Ability to collaborate with senior government security counterparts and manage decision‑making under pressure.
