Human Resources Officer

About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and needs a dedicated Human Resources Officer to lead onboarding, compliance and day‑to‑day HR operations for its Cameroon team. You will be the first point of contact for new hires and work closely with the People team to ensure a smooth employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily operations of all HR functions.
• Manage end‑to‑end onboarding for new hires across markets, from offer acceptance to first‑day integration.
• Collect, verify and file pre‑employment documentation in line with local legal requirements.
• Set up and maintain employee records in the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy.
• Coordinate onboarding schedules with Talent, hiring managers, payroll, IT and other stakeholders.
• Conduct induction sessions covering culture, values, internal regulations and company policies.
• Track probation periods and collaborate with payroll for related actions.
• Maintain audit‑ready employee files and support periodic HR audits.
• Assist payroll preparation by providing necessary data.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and Cameroonian labour legislation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR operations and onboarding.
• Familiarity with Cameroonian labour laws and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and manage multiple priorities.

• HRIS (any HR information system)
