Internal Audit Specialist

About the role

The Internal Audit Specialist will lead a team of analysts in validating financial statements and improving the efficiency of internal operations at Dangote Cement Cameroon. This senior position reports to the Deputy Group Head and works closely with senior management and the Audit Committee.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and execute the Financial & Operational Audit Plan.
• Ensure audit procedures are strictly followed, including issue identification, evidence analysis, and documentation.
• Review and validate audit reports, making recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
• Manage ad‑hoc audit assignments, investigations, and peer quality reviews.
• Communicate audit findings through written reports and presentations to senior leadership.
• Maintain compliance with IIA Standards and Code of Ethics.
• Identify training needs for direct reports and coordinate appropriate development programs.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting or related discipline; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of financial and operational audit experience.
• At least 5 years in a top‑tier audit firm.
• Experience across multiple industries such as manufacturing, energy, or utilities.
• International work experience is an advantage.
