Internal Audit Specialist

About the role

The Internal Audit Specialist will lead a team of analysts in planning, executing and reporting on financial and operational audits. The role ensures that audit procedures are rigorously applied, risks are identified and internal controls are continuously improved to support the organization’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and execute the annual Financial & Operational Audit Plan.
• Ensure audit team members have the necessary skills and adhere to audit standards.
• Conduct risk‑based audit programs, evaluate financial records and validate audit reports.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee through written reports and presentations.
• Perform ad‑hoc audit assignments, investigations and peer quality reviews as directed.
• Maintain compliance with the IIA Standards and Code of Ethics.
• Identify training needs, monitor implementation of external audit recommendations and follow‑up on prior audit issues.

Required profile

• Strong professional scepticism and attention to detail.
• Excellent investigative, analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to manage and develop audit analysts.
• Experience in preparing and presenting audit reports to senior stakeholders.
• Commitment to ethical standards and continuous process improvement.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Working knowledge of financial reporting.
• Familiarity with common indicators of fraud and error.
