Junior Accountant

About the role

DME International Marine Services is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Douala. You will support day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate transaction recording and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger entries.
• Perform routine account reconciliations and bookkeeping tasks.
• Prepare and organize supporting documentation for financial statements and management reports.
• Respond to basic stakeholder inquiries regarding financial data.
• Assist senior accountants in compliance checks and audit preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax basics.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving abilities for audit and risk assessments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Experience using accounting software.
