National Consultant – Market Study on Menstrual Hygiene Products (Cameroon)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior national consultant to lead a comprehensive market study on menstrual hygiene products in Cameroon. The consultant will work primarily from home with periodic travel to field sites, delivering a robust evidence base to inform policy, private‑sector engagement and program design.

Key responsibilities

• Map key market players including producers, importers, distributors and NGOs.
• Analyse supply chains, distribution channels and price structures.
• Collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data on user practices, preferences and barriers to access.
• Assess regulatory, tax and policy frameworks affecting menstrual products.
• Produce a reliable database, actionable analytics and recommendations for market‑based interventions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in WASH, Public Health, Development Economics, Business, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years conducting market research or value‑chain analyses in developing countries, preferably in sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Proven experience designing and implementing field surveys with both quantitative and qualitative components.
