Postgraduate Lecturer – Mathematical Sciences

About the role

AIMS Cameroon is seeking a full‑time Lecturer to join its postgraduate programme in mathematical sciences. The position is hybrid, combining on‑site teaching in Windhoek with flexible remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver postgraduate courses in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics or related STEM fields.
• Prepare teaching materials, problem‑based learning activities and assessments.
• Supervise student projects, theses and provide academic mentorship.
• Contribute to research activities and collaborate with faculty across the AIMS network.
• Participate in seminars, workshops, outreach and industry‑engagement initiatives.
• Support curriculum development and promote inclusive, gender‑responsive learning practices.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics or a closely related discipline.
• Proven university‑level teaching experience, including course design and assessment.
• Active research record or strong potential for research with evidence of publications or collaborative projects.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor diverse postgraduate learners and commitment to inclusive education.
• Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary audiences.
