Product Designer (UI/UX)

About the role

Bold Entrepreneur Ltd (BE) is a venture-building, investment and business advisory company focused on developing, supporting and scaling businesses across Africa. It is looking for a versatile Product Designer who combines strong UI/UX capabilities with brand identity and graphic design skills. The designer works across BE and its portfolio ventures, collaborating with developers, business teams and management to turn ideas and business requirements into functional digital products and compelling visual experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design intuitive, responsive and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications
• Develop user journeys, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes
• Conduct user research, competitor analysis and usability testing
• Create and maintain reusable design systems and UI components
• Collaborate with developers so designs are implemented accurately
• Improve digital products based on user feedback and business needs
• Develop brand identity concepts, logos, colour palettes, typography systems and brand guidelines
• Design social media graphics, promotional materials, flyers, brochures, presentations and banners
• Support marketing campaigns, corporate communications, events and product launches

Required profile

• Qualification in UI/UX Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related discipline
• Relevant practical experience in product design, UI/UX or graphic design; self-taught candidates with demonstrable skills are also encouraged to apply
• Experience designing digital products, developing brand identities or working with startups is valued
• Creative, curious and resourceful, with attention to detail, self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision

Required skills

• Figma, including UI design, wireframing, prototyping, auto-layout and components
• UX principles, user flows, usability and responsive design
• Graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity, Canva
• Typography, colour theory, visual hierarchy and brand identity
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and modern digital design workflows
