Project Design Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Project Design Manager to lead the delivery of cutting‑edge engineering projects for Kirby Group Engineering. The role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design phase of large‑scale engineering projects across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, data centres and power transmission.
• Collaborate with agile, multi‑functional teams to develop project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Report status and performance metrics to senior leadership and clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering design projects of significant complexity.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, safely and within budget.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to engage in Kirby’s career development programmes.
