About the role
A South London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Property Asset Manager to lead its asset management function on an interim basis. You will shape investment planning, improve data integrity and drive service transformation across a diverse housing stock.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary asset management team.
- Develop and deliver the Asset Management Strategy in collaboration with internal teams and resident consultation.
- Own portfolio management, acting as the lead client for asset data on acquisitions and new‑build programmes.
- Oversee asset data systems, ensuring quality, integrity and effective use for decision‑making.
- Ensure compliance with Decent Homes standards and manage annual data returns.
- Coordinate the rolling stock condition survey programme.
- Develop and deliver the housing investment programme.
- Take responsibility for service transformation initiatives and NEC contract oversight.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset management processes and performance.
- Lead asset‑related projects and make recommendations on changes to the housing stock.
- Allocate team resources to meet service and programme delivery targets.
- Provide matrix management across key operational areas as required.
- Manage and support stock condition surveyors and associated teams.
Required profile
- Strategic, commercially aware asset management professional.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience in asset management within social housing or a local authority setting.
- In‑depth knowledge of asset data management, stock condition surveys and housing investment planning.
- Experience delivering asset management strategies and service transformation programmes.
- Understanding of Decent Homes standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience managing NEC contracts or similar frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to engage residents and internal teams.
