Regional Risk & Compliance Technical Advisor

About the role

The Regional Risk & Compliance Technical Advisor provides advisory leadership across multiple country programs, strengthening risk management, compliance, safeguarding and accountability. The role works remotely, supporting country and regional teams to translate global policies into practical, context‑appropriate tools and actions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on risk management, compliance, safeguarding, fraud prevention and ethical conduct aligned with CRS policies and donor requirements.
• Advise country teams on interpreting global standards and adapting them to local contexts without weakening controls.
• Support regional risk assessments, identify cross‑country trends, and recommend proportionate mitigation and escalation actions.
• Develop and promote regional tools, templates, guidance notes and job aids for consistent implementation.
• Analyze risk, compliance, safeguarding and audit data to spot recurring issues, root causes and areas needing additional support.
• Prepare regional reports, briefing notes and learning documents for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Governance, Risk Management, Law, International Development or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, compliance, audit, safeguarding or related functions, preferably in an international NGO.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical advisory support across multiple countries and align regional approaches with global policies.
