Senior Officer, Major Giving East

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council is seeking an experienced senior officer to lead operational oversight for its Area Office in Kousseri, Cameroon. The role involves coordinating programme implementation, managing grants, and representing NRC with local authorities and humanitarian partners.

Key responsibilities

• Organise grant opening and closure meetings in coordination with the country office.
• Represent NRC externally at the local level and build professional networks.
• Contribute to assessments for new areas of operation and develop program strategies.
• Adapt and implement SOPs and procedures to ensure effective assistance delivery.
• Oversee work and development plans for field staff and conduct regular performance feedback.
• Maintain data collection systems and ensure compliance with NRC standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian operations management, preferably in a senior role.
• Strong understanding of grant management and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a moderate‑living‑conditions environment with logistical and security challenges.
• Excellent communication and networking skills to represent NRC in Area‑Based Coordination mechanisms.
