Senior Project Associate

About the role

The Senior Project Associate will support the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of humanitarian project activities. The role involves extensive liaison with UN agencies, governmental authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring project activities, including budget tracking and adjustments.
• Compile, analyse and present data on project topics, highlighting issues for decision‑makers.
• Act as the focal point for administrative coordination, managing clearances, requests and follow‑up actions with internal units and external partners.
• Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics and statistical tables; organise meetings, workshops and training sessions.
• Maintain liaison with local authorities, UN agencies, donors and partners; monitor implementing partners for compliance.
• Provide inputs for SOPs, concept papers and new project development; supervise and train junior staff as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field, with at least four years relevant experience (or high school diploma with six years experience).
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and working with migrants, refugees, IDPs or trafficking victims.
• Prior work with international humanitarian organisations in a multicultural setting is an advantage.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of migration‑related subjects.
• Understanding of UN and bilateral donor programming.
• Familiarity with financial rules, regulations and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
