Software Engineer / Integration Support Engineer (Node.js & AWS)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer / Integration Support Engineer to maintain and enhance server‑less data‑processing pipelines on AWS. The role focuses on Node.js (ES Modules) Lambda functions that ingest, validate, transform and output housing data for local‑government systems. You will work remotely with occasional on‑site collaboration in the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain Node.js‑based AWS Lambda functions for file ingestion, validation, parsing, transformation and output generation.
• Manage S3‑based batch workflows and scheduled processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in end‑to‑end integrations between NEC Housing and internal systems.
• Monitor and maintain AWS services including S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, Step Functions and IAM.
• Improve data‑processing logic, error handling, logging and performance.
• Collaborate with business teams to analyse incidents and implement fixes.
• Document workflows, data mappings and operational runbooks.
• Contribute to version control and releases using Git workflows.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Comfortable supporting critical batch processes in a production environment.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical issues clearly.

Required skills

• Node.js with ES Modules (.mjs).
• AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch and IAM.
• Experience building file‑based data transformation pipelines (JSON, CSV, fixed‑width).
• Proficient in Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong debugging and logging skills.
