Software Engineer

About the role

WASPITO is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer to join its on‑site team in Douala. You will help build and maintain the digital platforms that connect patients, healthcare providers, and services across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain back‑end services and APIs for the healthcare platform.
• Optimize system performance and ensure high code quality.
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and resolve bugs.
• Contribute to architecture decisions that improve scalability, reliability, and security.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer‑science principles, algorithms, and data structures.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining production‑grade applications.
• Hands‑on experience with back‑end web development, APIs, databases, and server‑side frameworks.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming concepts.
• Experience using version‑control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, or micro‑services is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
