Staff Specialist – Early Psychosis Program (Psychiatrist)

About the role

The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District is seeking a motivated psychiatrist to join the Early Psychosis Program (EPP) at Bondi Junction Community Health Centre. This temporary part‑time (0.4 FTE) role lasts 12 months with the possibility of extension and focuses on delivering early‑intervention mental health care for young people experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and management for youth with early psychosis.
• Lead formulation and treatment planning within a multidisciplinary team.
• Support complex clinical decision‑making and contribute to case discussions.
• Participate in service development, quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
• Teach, supervise and mentor junior medical staff and trainees.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist registration in psychiatry.
• Experience in youth mental health or early psychosis services is highly desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Commitment to evidence‑based, recovery‑oriented care.
