Yard Civil Engineer – Port Infrastructure

About the role

The Yard Civil Engineer will support the Yard Civil Manager in delivering civil works for a container and wood yard, including pavements, roads, culverts, minor bridges, buildings, utilities and compound walls. The role requires strong design capabilities, project coordination and on‑site supervision to ensure timely, safe and quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers to define timelines, designs and visual aids using AutoCAD.
• Assist in developing detailed execution plans for yard structures and ensure compliance with budgets and quality standards.
• Supervise civil construction activities such as foundation works, piling, concrete works, precast installations and backup area development.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors, schedule resources and monitor material, equipment and labour deployment.
• Implement QA/QC plans, conduct inspections and tests (CBR, pile integrity, concrete), and maintain documentation.
• Enforce HSE protocols, support safety audits and risk mitigation measures.
• Track daily, weekly and monthly progress, ensure permitting and regulatory compliance, and support handover of completed works.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience (with degree) or 15 years (with diploma) in civil engineering quality control and supervision of port yard works.
• Proven experience with AutoCAD and strong design, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience interfacing with mechanical, electrical and other disciplines.
