Assistant Professor in Machine Learning

About the role

The University Institute of Technology (IUT) of Université Sorbonne Paris Nord is seeking an Assistant Professor to strengthen its Machine Learning teaching and research activities. The role combines full‑time teaching within the Bachelor of Technology (BUT) program and active participation in the Paris Nord Computer Science Laboratory (LIPN) research teams.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses covering data processing, database design, software development, and artificial intelligence.
• Supervise internships, work‑study students, and bachelor projects.
• Organise learning and assessment situations (SAé) and coordinate course modules.
• Develop and lead research projects in Machine Learning, including relational, graph‑based, and meta‑learning.
• Publish research results and collaborate with academic and industrial partners.
• Contribute to departmental life and interdisciplinary initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching at the university level.
• Strong record of theoretical or applied research in Machine Learning.
• Ability to supervise and mentor students in research and professional projects.
