Assistant Professor – Machine Learning

About the role

The University Institute of Technology (IUT) of Université Sorbonne Paris Nord is seeking an Assistant Professor to join its Computer Science Department. The position combines teaching in the Bachelor of Technology (BUT) program with research activities in the Paris Nord Computer Science Laboratory (LIPN).

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and practical sessions on data processing, database design, and software development quality within the BUT curriculum.
• Supervise internships, work‑study students, and coordinate learning and assessment situations (SAé).
• Participate in departmental life, including course coordination and pedagogical initiatives.
• Conduct research in machine learning, contributing to LIPN’s A3 or RCLN teams.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects with academic and industrial partners.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and its applications.
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level, preferably in a technology‑focused program.
• Ability to engage students and contribute to departmental development.
