Conservation Pilot – Cameroon Program

About the role

The Conservation Pilot supports wildlife law‑enforcement and biodiversity monitoring across northern Cameroon. Based at the WCS project headquarters in Bouba Njida National Park, the role combines aerial patrol flights, logistical support and safety‑focused aviation management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safe, professional pilot‑in‑command (PIC) flights for anti‑poaching patrols and aerial biomonitoring missions.
• Provide logistical air support for field teams operating in Garoua, Chad and surrounding regions.
• Maintain compliance with national, international and FAA aviation regulations and WCS safety guidelines.
• Assist with aircraft maintenance coordination and safety reporting.
• Prepare technical reports, flight logs and administrative documentation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience as a pilot‑in‑command in remote or conservation settings.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and proactive problem solving.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Cameroon, Chad and occasional international locations.
• Ability to work independently in field conditions and support project objectives.
