Cyber Threat Intelligence Intern

About the role

Join Maxis as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Intern and gain hands‑on experience in threat intelligence, security operations, threat hunting, and cybersecurity automation. You will work side‑by‑side with seasoned security professionals to strengthen detection capabilities and support intelligence‑driven defence across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing automation processes that collect, enrich and operationalise threat intelligence.
• Support integration and optimisation of security tools such as SIEM, EDR/XDR and threat intelligence platforms.
• Help cybersecurity teams conduct proactive threat‑hunting activities to uncover suspicious behaviour and emerging threats.
• Contribute to the creation, testing and refinement of detection rules and use cases to improve visibility and reduce false positives.
• Participate in enhancing threat‑response playbooks and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat intelligence, cyber threats and SOC environments.
• Familiarity with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR or threat intelligence platforms is an advantage.
• Basic scripting ability.
