Processing Plant Director

About the role

The Processing Plant Director will lead the entire processing and metallurgy function for a large‑scale iron ore operation in Cameroon. Reporting to senior executive leadership, the role is responsible for driving plant performance, product quality, metallurgical recovery and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the processing strategy across all beneficiation operations.
• Provide leadership for crushing, washing, screening, grinding, dense media separation, magnetic separation and drying circuits.
• Improve plant throughput, metallurgical recovery, product quality and operating efficiency.
• Partner with mining and geology teams to optimise performance as ore characteristics change.
• Lead metallurgical accounting, reconciliation and laboratory functions for accurate production reporting.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and monitor processing KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, environmental requirements and best practices.
• Manage operating budgets and capital expenditure, identifying cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to maximise plant availability and equipment reliability.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary processing, metallurgy and operational teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing or Process Engineering.
• Significant leadership experience managing large‑scale mineral processing or beneficiation operations.
• Proven track record of delivering operational excellence in a mining environment.
