Radiology Technician PRN – Outpatient Surgery

About the role

The Radiology Technician (PRN) provides fluoroscopic and radiographic services for patients of all ages in an outpatient surgery setting. The position involves direct patient care, imaging procedures, and related clerical duties without weekend, night, holiday, or on‑call requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fluoroscopic procedures and standard X‑ray imaging for diagnostic purposes.
• Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and ensure removal of obstructive items.
• Operate stationary and portable radiologic equipment, adjust settings, and capture high‑quality images.
• Assist with fluoroscopic work, create clinical photographs of unusual cases, and maintain equipment.
• Apply radiation protection measures, monitor patients during procedures, and ensure safety compliance.
• Measure patient thickness, set machine controls for optimal density and contrast.
• Maintain accurate records, file images, and generate reports as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiology issued by the State Department of Health Services.
• At least two years of experience under an accredited medical radiologist (or equivalent training).
• Knowledge of modern radiologic equipment, anatomy, standardized procedures, and radiation safety.
• Ability to communicate effectively, provide emergency aid, and work cooperatively with staff.
