Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist (CDZ)

About the role

Join DHL Global Forwarding as a CDZ Specialist in Cameroon, where you will develop and administer customs and trade compliance plans to ensure smooth clearance of freight documentation. You will work closely with customers and customs authorities to align operations with business strategy and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute customs and trade compliance processes to optimise service and cost performance.
• Plan and direct the flow of air and surface traffic to ensure timely customs clearance.
• Monitor shipped items, validity dates, duties and tariffs at government institutions.
• Prepare customs entries, categorize goods, and manage customs security filings.
• Close post‑clearance modifications, handle inbound/outbound documentation and archive records.
• Calculate duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume for imports and exports.
• Provide guidance on pricing, margins, bids, RFQs and customer presentations.
• Resolve customer issues, escalations and disputes.
• Stay updated on regulation changes and ensure compliance with import/export legislation.
• Manage import licences and export controls, collaborating with customs authorities.
• Develop workflow models between central customs operations and transactional teams.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and trade compliance procedures.
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage documentation accurately.
• Analytical mindset for calculating duties, tariffs and pricing.
