Data Management Officer – Clinical Service Improvement & Science

About the role

The Data Management Officer – Clinical Service Improvement & Science (DMO‑CSIS) will support EGPAF’s Cameroon program by managing data for evaluation and clinical support projects. Reporting to the Director of Public Health Evaluation, the incumbent will ensure high‑quality data collection, processing, and analysis while collaborating with local and international investigators.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electronic data capture tools and databases for specific evaluation projects.
• Extract datasets from the central database and perform data quality assessments, generating error listings and data queries.
• Oversee data correction processes with SI&E teams and ensure compliance with country regulatory requirements and EGPAF standards.
• Conduct statistical analyses for progress reports, newsletters, and presentations.
• Maintain regular communication with local investigators, the Cameroon Ministry of Health, and sponsor institutions.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and facility‑level clinical teams on data quality and collection practices.
• Support data management for additional research protocols as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in data management for health evaluations or research projects.
• Ability to develop and maintain electronic data capture tools and databases.
• Strong analytical skills for data cleaning, validation, and statistical analysis.
• Proven capacity to train, mentor, and supervise junior staff.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with local and international stakeholders.
