Patient Care Technician / Nurse's Aid (PRN Night Shift)

About the role

Peterson Health, a nationally recognized rural community hospital in Kerrville, Texas, is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Nurse's Aid on a PRN (as‑needed) basis for the night shift. Working under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will provide essential basic and advanced nursing care to a designated group of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and changing linens.
• Measure and record vital signs, assist with patient transport, and support ambulation.
• Help meet patients' emotional and physical needs, acting as a positive role model for teamwork.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure safe and compassionate patient care.

Required profile

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math; follow written and verbal instructions.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred). Completion of one year of formal RN coursework or one year of in‑hospital PCT experience is advantageous.
• Previous patient‑care experience in a hospital or long‑term care setting.

Required skills

• Current BLS certification.
• Nurse’s Aid certification or equivalent training.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication.
