Account Payable & General Ledger Officer

About the role

The Account Payable & General Ledger Officer will manage the end‑to‑end payment process, ensure accurate journal entries, and maintain synchronization between SIMPRO and XERO systems. The role requires strong attention to detail, vendor coordination, and compliance with audit standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review supplier invoices, petty cash reimbursements and credit‑card settlements, ensuring supporting documents and approvals are complete before payment.
• Enter all relevant transactions into SIMPRO and verify proper integration with XERO, including tax invoice completeness.
• Act as liaison between vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and guarantee timely payments.
• Prepare routine month‑end journal entries such as accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation and other balance‑sheet adjustments.
• Perform monthly reconciliations between SIMPRO and XERO, investigating and resolving variances promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Economics.
• Minimum three years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in construction or foreign‑investment companies.
• Strong ethical conduct and understanding of financial regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and handle extended hours when needed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and cross‑functional collaboration.

• Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word.
• Database systems and internet applications.
• Accounting software XERO.
• Enterprise resource planning tools such as SAP.
• SIMPRO system for project‑based accounting.
