About the role
Wave is scaling its fintech platform across Africa and seeks a Business Development Manager to drive partnership growth in Cameroon. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will act as the bridge between external organisations and internal product, finance and compliance teams, ensuring seamless collaboration as the company expands its services.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, acquire and manage strategic partnerships with central banks, commercial banks, micro‑finance institutions, telecom operators, international remittance providers and key business customers.
- Conduct market research and leverage networks to select optimal partners and negotiate contracts.
- Maintain service level agreements and monitor partner performance.
- Produce regular business performance reports and presentations for partners and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between external partners and internal teams (Product, Finance, Distribution, Compliance, Legal).
- Adapt partnership strategy as Wave’s product roadmap evolves.
Required profile
- Resourceful, organised and proactive with a strong bias for action.
- Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
