Executive Chef

About the role

Compass Healthcare is seeking an energetic Executive Chef to lead kitchen operations across its healthcare facilities. The role involves planning menus, ensuring food quality, and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment while supporting the organization’s mission of delivering seamless care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan regular and modified menus in line with corporate guidelines.
• Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
• Complete daily production worksheets and waste logs; taste meals for quality assurance.
• Train kitchen staff on food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, and sanitation.
• Establish and enforce cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas.
• Maintain inventory of food and non‑food supplies while controlling costs.
• Make decisions on leftover food utilization according to company policy.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations and pass audits.
• Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and client satisfaction programs.

Required profile

• A.S. degree or equivalent culinary experience.
• 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• Extensive catering and high‑volume foodservice experience, preferably in institutional or batch cooking environments.
• Hands‑on chef experience is mandatory.
• ServSafe certification highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage inventory and control food costs.
• Experience with computer‑based production and waste tracking systems.
