Financial Controller

About the role

Agroproduce Management Services (AMS) Ltd, a sustainable cocoa certification and export business operating in Cameroon, seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead accounting processes for its operations in Tiko. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision‑making in a fast‑growing commodity agriculture environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce timely and accurate financial reports in line with GAAP and OHADA accounting standards.
• Maintain an efficient system of accounting records and improve existing controls and budgets.
• Lead risk and currency analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage, coach, and mentor a finance team to enhance performance and professional development.
• Drive process improvements, implement appropriate systems, and align financial policies with company objectives.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in commodity agriculture, trading, or food & beverage sectors.
• Strong understanding of business, financial, and accounting principles, including OHADA law.
• Excellent analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize workload, and propose practical solutions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP ERP.
• Experience using Sage Evolution or similar ERP platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of OHADA accounting regulations.
