Rapid Response Advisor

About the role

The Rapid Response Advisor will lead the implementation of emergency preparedness and response activities under the STRIDES (Strengthening Infectious disease Detection Systems) Activity. Working closely with technical staff and partners, the advisor ensures that all actions align with approved work plans and donor expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day implementation of complex emergency activities, adapting to rapidly evolving disease threats.
• Direct professional staff and rapid response teams as needs arise.
• Coordinate with STRIDES technical staff to align activities with work plans and integrate technical expertise.
• Prepare donor deliverable reports, draft publications, and manage external communications.
• Develop and revise best‑practice documents and monitor project budgets.
• Collaborate with a diverse set of in‑country partners, including USG and host‑country government counterparts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in emergency preparedness and response within public health or infectious disease contexts.
• Strong judgment for developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for emerging threats.
• Ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder teams and manage donor reporting.
