Rapid Response Advisor

About the role

The Rapid Response Advisor leads the implementation of STRIDES emergency preparedness and response activities for FHI 360 in Cameroon, ensuring alignment with donor workplans and technical guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day implementation of STRIDES emergency preparedness and response activities, directing professional staff and rapid response teams.
• Coordinate with STRIDES technical and programmatic staff to ensure activities meet award requirements, align with workplans and contribute to the 7‑1‑7 target.
• Prepare donor deliverable reports, draft publications and external communications highlighting achievements.
• Develop and revise best‑practice documents, monitor budgets and liaise with USG and host‑country counterparts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Extensive knowledge of global health security best practices and emergency/outbreak response within the USG context.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities to assess rapidly evolving disease threats.
• Proven leadership and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders and manage multidisciplinary teams.
